Many of our parishioners request Sponsor Letters so that they may serve as Godparents at the Baptism or Sponsors for the Confirmation of a loved one. To be asked to be a Godparent is a great honor. It means that the young person (or his/her parents) recognize you as someone who is an active and regular participant in the practice of the Catholic faith, willing and able to help pass on the faith to a young person.
In order for our Pastor to prepare a Sponsor Letter on your behalf, we ask that parishioners come to the parish office and fill out a form stating that they meet all the canonical requirements and pledging that they will fulfill all the obligations associated with being a Godparent/Sponsor.
Please note that at Saint Ann a Sponsor Letter will only be given to those who are officially registered as parishioners (for at least 2 months), are known to the parish, actively participate in its life, including regular Mass attendance and financially supporting the parish through the use of donation envelopes or our online giving program. Anonymous parishioners and donors cannot be verified. Simply being a Catholic is not enough to serve in this important capacity.
