O God, may the votive commemoration of your Confessor and Doctor, Saint Anthony, be a source of gladness to your Church, that always fortified with spiritual aid we may deserve to possess eternal joy, through Christ our Lord, Amen.
Blessed Anthony, gentlest of Saints, your love of God and charity towards his creatures, made you worthy of miraculous power while on earth. Miracles followed your words which you were ever ready to speak for those who were in trouble or in need. Encouraged by this thought, I implore you to grant also my request (pause and make your request). It may need a miracle but you are the Saint of Miracles, o kind and amiable Saint Anthony whose heart was always full of sympathy, whisper my petition into the ear of the Holy Infant Jesus, who loved to rest in your arms and my heartfelt gratitude will ever be yours. Amen.
